Samsung updates Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7 with July 2026 security patch

Yesterday, Samsung started rolling out the July 2026 security patch to Galaxy smartphones, with the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S25 lineups getting it first. Now, the brand has kicked off expanding the latest security patch to its foldable smartphones, and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 are the first to get it.

In a classic Samsung fashion, the company has released the updates first in its home country, South Korea. The update for the book-style foldable is 573.04MB in size and carries version F966NKSSBBZG3, whereas that for the clamshell model is 443.37MB in size and carries version F766NKSSBBZG3 (via Tarun Vats, Samsung Community).

The July 2026 security patch brings fixes for 57 security issues present in the previous firmware, making the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 more secure. Samsung should release the update in other regions in the next few days. To check its availability in your country and get it, go to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.

Speaking of updates for the two phones, Samsung has started developing its One UI 9.0 (Android 17) for the two phones. It brings many upgrades, which you can check out in our video below. The brand is expected to showcase the stable version of the new software with its next foldable later this month and then release it to older devices.
